What is Ode2LA?

Ode 2 LA is a community-centered archive project created by Madelyn Inez based on the poem she created paying tribute to the city. 

 

Through the massive changes happening in Los Angeles due to gentrification, Ode 2 LA community archive strives to highlight the stories of Los Angeles natives. Ode 2 LA will be an ongoing archive open to all LA natives interested in taking part in the archive. The portfolio contains film photos taken of each Los Angeles native in a place they feel represents Los Angeles to them. Through transcribed oral histories of each participant of the archive are excerpts of interviews conducted by Inez, asking questions around LA nativity, gentrification, the importance of LA history, and storytelling.
